MAN FACING BURGLARY AND OTHER CHARGES ON THE RUN

NEW PHILADELPHIA – Police are searching for a suspect believed to have been hurt after crashing a stolen vehicle while intoxicated and fleeing.  Police say the 24-year old man is accused of driving away from a West High Avenue motel in a car that belonged to his brother’s girlfriend without her permission about 11 PM Friday. From there he allegedly went to the house of an ex-girlfriend who has a protection order against him in Uhrichsville, where he made threats towards her and her baby about 11:30 PM.  After leaving, he crashed the car on US 250 just outside of New Philadelphia and was seen shortly before midnight limping through a Goshen Avenue Southeast yard.  Police say they’ve talked to the suspect by phone but he’s afraid to turn himself in because there is a previous warrant out for his arrest.  He also told police he had heavy bleeding from the head and possibly a broken leg from the crash.  New charges against him could include burglary, domestic violence and child endangerment.
