Misty Ann has been diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and is currently fighting for her life while awaiting a double lung transplant. Misty is only 39 years old and this terrible illness has rendered her disabled and homebound while she awaits her transplant. She has been blessed with two beautiful children; Logan, age 6 and Kal, age 20. She married the love of her life, Ron in 2018. Their wedded bliss would be cut short and stolen from them, as just a few short months after their wedding, she was diagnosed. Misty was forced to quit her long-time job as a dental assistant and lives her life now as best she can in between hospital stays while praying daily for the phone call from the transplant center.
Those who know Misty know the joy it is to be a part of her life. She brings laughter to everyone she encounters and is an eternal optimist without fault. Even from her hospital bed, she entertains us with funny videos and messages. She has a wonderful team of doctors at University Hospital of Cleveland and we know in our hearts she will thrive with her new lungs.
Misty needs our help. As stated above she is unable to work which has brought her and her husband down to a one-income household. Ron is Misty’s primary caretaker and has already had to miss so much work because of her condition. Once she is called for her transplant, Ron will have to miss months of work as her caretaker. Close family is doing all they can to help, but they are faced with many costly expenses and their situation will soon become overwhelming.
